Creativity Overload: A Memorable Senior Portrait Session with Maddie | Columbus, Indiana Photographer
This was a fun shoot!
All of my shoots are fun but this one was SO creative if felt like play. First off, Maddie’s senior portraits were photographed in and around Columbus, Indiana.
So you might remember the session I did with Kesha and her daughter Evelyn where it ended up being during prom weekend. Well, I ended up meeting Maddie and her mom that same day. As Kesha got changed, I offered to take a few photos of Maddi in her prom dress. Little did I know that this chance encounter would lead to such an exciting opportunity.
This is a session I couldn’t wait to shoot. I just knew something great was going to be created. I didn’t know what. But just knew it was gonna be alot of fun.
Senior Portraits In Columbus Indiana
Every senior photo shoot comes with a style session. It’s a session where we go into your closet and pick the clothes for your shoot. The clothes that reflect you personal style and then we create photo shoot around that. The outfits we chose were absolutely stunning. She has such a bold style. It was so fun going through all of her clothes.
On the day of the shoot, Maddi's boyfriend, her mom, and her boyfriend's mom joined us. It was fantastic having them there. They really helped support Maddi and kept her laughing.
Now, just a week before the shoot, I had been in an accident and was still nursing my injuries. It wasn’t able to move in the ways I normally would and I knew that would affect the shoot. Thankfully, my sister Carina, who used to shoot with me, graciously stepped in to help me during this session. Her presence was a true blessing, and I couldn't be more grateful for her support.
One of the highlights of the session was capturing some beautiful moments between Maddi and her boyfriend, Evan. They are such a cute couple and he really went a long way in helping her relax.
As luck would have it, Exhibit Columbus was putting up their exhibits that weekend, so we seized the opportunity and incorporated this incredible pink wall into some of the shots. I knew something really creative was going to come out of this shoot and just didn’t know what. This pink wall created that opportunity.
We then went to Hotel Indigo that had another exhibit and we used that to create this image.
I couldn't be happier with the results. The photographs turned out even more breathtaking than I had imagined. That’s what I love about what I do. The opportunity to use what’s around us during our session to take things to the next level.
I want to extend a huge thank you to Maddi, her family, and my sister Carina. It's moments like these that remind me why I fell in love with photography in the first place.
Stay tuned for more exciting shoots and adventures coming your way. And remember, when creativity meets opportunity, magic happens!
Until next time,
Stefanie
