Shhh…I’ve Got Something To Tell You

Hey everyone,

I’ve written this blog, kinda off and on for a few years now and realized that never really introduced myself. So I thought it would be a fun idea to do so, but in a 5 question format. What do you think? Ready? Let’s go:

Who are you?

To be honest I’m still discovering that one, but for more formal terms, my name is Stefanie Garcia and I am one of the photographers of this lovely little photography business we call Ania Photo. The other photographer is my sister Carina, she’s the one on the right. Our brother Andre (not pictured yet), does all of our videos.

I primarily writes this blog, I’ve tried to get Carina to join in a few time but it’s not really her thing (perhaps one day I will convince her :))

We have been photographers for more than 10 years when we accidentally fell into his business. You can hear all about that story in the video below that we shot years ago.

We grew up in California until our parents divorced and then moved to the small town of Madison, Indiana. I moved out to Colorado for a few years (living near Colorado Springs) before moving back and trying this photography thing again 🙂

Why did you start blogging?

Hmmm, that is a good question. I don’t actually remember when I started this blog but the truth is I started it because it was kinda what everyone else was doing. I saw how cool Jasmine Star, a fellow photographer, made hers so I decided to start my own.

Why do I continue it? Because I love to write and communicate what I do, love and learn with the world. My hope is that this site will grow and expand and hopefully what I write be an inspiration for others.

Who is this blog for?

This blog is for anyone who is interested in photography. For anyone who has ever had a picture taken of themselves before or, would consider getting their picture taken by a professional photographer. But also, I would like this blog to be for anyone who is on a self-growth path like me and is learning to fit a little bit better in their own skin. You know what I mean. Anyone who is kind of coming out of the shadows and really wants to step forward into the life of their dreams.

What is something you’ve been working on lately that you’re REALLY proud of?

Oh wow! So much. Probably courage. Learning to have the courage to write this blog in a way that I see fit. To create this site and business in a way that truly fits me and Carina and the direction we want to take it. Courage to live my life the way I am seeing fit and going wherever life takes it. I am also proud of the fact that I am learning how to be more present in my life and learning how to take the time to be with myself and my friends and family and to get to know them better. I am also proud of what I have learned about acceptance. Right now, my heart is pounding at the idea of announcing out loud that my son is autistic.

Many of you might not understand why, but perhaps it is something you may have to experience in order to understand it. For me, it is the way I feel, and it has been a long journey. But now, I am proud to accept him for every bit of who he is without feeling the need for him to be any different.

What’s the ONE MESSAGE that you hope people take away from your blog?

I think that, for me, the message is going to be something I will only be able to understand in hindsight. But, for right here and right now, I hope people walk away feeling a connection. I hope people can feel inspired and uplifted. I hope people feel like they can raise their freak flag and keep it lifted and let no one else make them put it down.

Until next time everyone.

I wish you well,

P.S. ARE YOU ON INSTAGRAM? We are too!!!! Come check us out we have alot more on there then we could ever put on the blog. Plus it’s fun:)
